Mission Statement

The Gulf Coast Health Information Management Association is one of the Regional Associations in the state of Florida, referred to as Region IV, or GCHIMA. GCHIMA is comprised of over 250 members who are responsible for ensuring high quality and efficiency in health information management

Vision Statement

  • To encourage the highest attainable levels of professional competence in those who manage health records and health information systems.

  • To be a liaison to the state's authoritative body in health records and health information systems and to be an advocate for the professional in governmental, academic, social or business issues that affect the management of health records or health information systems.

  • To promote the professional standing of those who manage health records and health information systems.

  • To promote a structure that will ensure comprehensive communications between the Gulf Coast Health Information Management Association and the Florida Health Information Management Association regarding issues of mutual concern.

  • To contribute within the scope of the profession to the quality and efficiency in health care.
